Meet the Team

The people who make it all happen.

  • Rob

    Owner

Rob has been working in hospitality all his life. He worked his way up through the ranks at Pret, where he ended up being utilised as a specialist in opening new shops, and then as a cluster manager. After this he owned his own restaurants in Bath before moving over to the pub industry and working for both independents and chains.

He was most recently head-hunted by St Austell Brewery to open up a flagship site for them in Fowey and after that was drafted into The Masons Arms in Branscombe, during a tough time for the site. Rob worked hard at rebuilding the hotel/pub site in terms of staff, its place in the village and overall reputation.

Rob always wanted to go back to running his own business and after a few years of looking, stumbled across The Drewe Arms. Instantly falling in love with the pub and the village alike, a decision was quickly made. Not only does Rob bring his knowledge of the trade, he also brings passion and an attention to detail that will really thrive at the Drewe.

Outside of work, Rob is an amazing husband and father and also keen car enthusiast, and will happily talk cars for hours with anyone at the bar.

  • Nat

    Owner

Nat's career has been in sport, having been a PE teacher, followed by a performance netball coach her highlights of which were coaching out at the Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Retiring from elite sport, she joined Rob in the pub trade at The Masons Arms in Branscombe. Nat does a lot back of house and with the numbers making sure all the boxes are ticked. She also can be found behind the bar especially on a weekend, and as an ex high performance coach, her attention to detail is high, and she always likes to make sure everyone is having a good time.

Out of work she is a wife and mum and still plays netball locally with her daughter Bex, and can occasionally be seen on heard on your screens commentating at international netball events.

  • Lee

    Head Chef

Lee is Beer born and bred (the village not the drink), and has been cheffing all his life. He started his work life at The Anchor in Beer before moving to The Montague Arms in the New Forest as the Head Baker.

Making a name for himself he moved to Home Farm in Wilmington where he was the Head Chef and the F&B Manager. From there he moved to The Otter in Newton Poppleford for 2 years.

His last role was for 10 years as Head Chef at the Masons Arms in Branscombe, where not only was he used to doing his own delicious specials, but also utilised by St Austell Brewery as a consultant on the menu's across the estate.

Lee's favourite dish to cook is a fish dish and when asked about coming to The Drewe, he said he was excited to be creating new and innovative food. The time has come for a new chapter and a new challenge and this is the place for it.

Lee’s reputation precedes him as a great chef, but he is also a great friend, and we know you are going to love his food just as much as we do.

  • Ryan

Ryan has been working alongside Lee for a number of years now and has earned many achievements in his career. Including a nomination for apprentice of the year.
